As the proud owner of a powersports vehicle, there are probably many things you love about your ride. However, you might find yourself wondering if there’s even more potential that you have yet to discover. These machines are powerful and capable of handling just about anything, but that doesn’t mean there’s no room for improvement. Whether you own an ATV, UTV, or dirt bike, we’ve got some tips for you, so read on to learn more!

Intake

A surefire way to boost the performance of your powersports vehicle is to allow more air into the engine. When you combine improved airflow with more fuel, you’ll receive more power and speed. This option tends to be one of the most affordable upgrades. One way to improve airflow is to invest in a better air filter. Another option is to open up the airbox by drilling holes or adding vents.

Tires

The type of tires you choose should be determined by your riding style. For example, ATVs should be equipped with all-terrain tires. If you plan to use your UTV for mudding, you should invest in mud-terrain tires. You want tough sidewalls, deep treads, and the right rubber compound for the type of terrain you’ll ride on. You’ll notice an increase in top speed when you upgrade to larger tires for your powersports vehicle.

Ground Clearance

If you plan to tackle rough terrain, you’ll want to have a good amount of space between the underside of your vehicle and the ground. If you don’t have proper ground clearance, you can end up causing some serious damage to the underbody of your machine. Even with adequate ground clearance, skid plates are a worthwhile investment for underbody protection.
